Concord, N.H. – Today, top New Hampshire women leaders joined a press call ahead of Donald Trump’s “tele-rally” to discuss the promises Trump made - and broke - to Granite State women four years ago and they discussed Joe Biden’s newly released Build Back Better Agenda for Women. Read excerpts from today’s press conference call: Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter: “When Donald Trump appears on his tele-rally tonight, it will be a glaring reminder that his presidency is defined by a record of broken promises to women. In four years, he has dismantled what little our country provides to address the health and wellbeing of half of our country, breaking the promise he made to women in our state. On the other hand, Joe Biden has a comprehensive plan to expand access to high-quality, affordable health care, including reproductive health care. Just like the women in New Hampshire, Joe Biden believes we should never have to worry about going back to the days when being a woman was a pre-existing condition.” Former New Hampshire Senate President Sylvia Larsen: “When Trump speaks tonight, he will try, just as his ‘Women for Trump’ surrogates did last week, to spin his record on women’s issues. But the women of New Hampshire have been watching as Trump has broken every promise he made to them when he campaigned here. Trump revoked President Obama's fair pay executive order, tried to block companies from having to report pay by gender, and has defended employers who pay mothers less than men. The broken promise Trump made about equal pay for women makes it clear why we need to elect Joe Biden, who has a plan to support women that ensures we will be paid equally, and fairly, for our work.” Former Speaker of the New Hampshire State House Terie Norelli: “Trump can hide behind a screen as he hosts his tele-rally tonight, but he can’t hide his record of broken promises to Granite State women. Trump’s tax scam reduced the value of the childcare credit for low- and moderate-income families even as it gave huge tax cuts to big corporations and the wealthiest 1%. Trump’s presidency is defined by his broken promises to Granite State women, but Joe Biden’s presidency will further women’s economic and physical security and ensure that women can fully exercise our civil rights.” New Hampshire Democratic Party Senior Communications Advisor Holly Shulman: “Later tonight, as you know, Donald Trump is hosting a tele-rally in New Hampshire where he’ll lie and confuse and say anything he can to try to distract from his own record of broken promises. But before he makes new promises tonight that he can’t keep, we’re here to remind voters that the Trump presidency is defined by the broken promises he made to Granite State women four years ago.”
