CONCORD, NH — Last night, Governor Sununu and Larry Hogan, the governor of Maryland, headlined a fundraiser for the New Hampshire House Republican Caucus.
This year, 85% of State House Republicans voted in favor of a six-week abortion ban.
Following Sununu’s signing of New Hampshires’s first modern abortion ban, including criminal penalties for doctors and mandatory invasive ultrasounds, with no exceptions for rape, incest, or fatal fetal anomaly, he has repeatedly confirmed his support of and continues to campaign for extreme anti-choice Republicans.
In response, NHDP spokesperson Monica Venzke released the following statement:
"Larry Hogan and Chris Sununu are the same brand of phony, so it comes as no surprise to anyone that they’d join forces and campaign for Republicans who support extreme legislation like a six-week abortion ban.
Sununu has shown time and time again that he will never stand up for our reproductive rights. New Hampshire is a pro-choice state, and Sununu is not a pro-choice governor. We need to get rid of him.”
