Concord, N.H. – Yesterday, WMUR reported on a Women for Trump bus tour which will attempt to rewrite Trump’s record of broken promises for women. In response, New Hampshire Democratic Party Spokesperson Holly Shulman released the following statement: “No amount of out-of-state Trump boosters can hide the fact that Donald Trump has broken virtually every single promise he’s made to New Hampshire women. Trump and New Hampshire Republican politicians have proven they’ll stop at nothing to take away women’s rights - from supporting total bans on abortion, to trying to repeal the Affordable Care Act and its protections for women, to opposing equal pay laws, and opposing paid family leave plans that would allow new moms to stay home with their newborns.” “To have Republican candidates Colorado Corky Messner and New Jersey Matt Mowers participate in these events is especially insulting to the women of the Granite State. Messner wants to overturn Roe v. Wade, opposes a woman's right to choose, would defund Planned Parenthood, and pushed to send doctors to prison for providing safe and legal abortions, while Mowers supports a total ban on abortion without exceptions. These out-of-state Trump cheerleaders and others will simply remind New Hampshire voters that the Trump Presidency has been the single biggest setback for women’s rights in decades.”
