Sununu playing politics & passing off responsibility on toll increase

Concord, N.H. - Governor Sununu continues to lay responsibility for toll increases at the feet of the Executive Council, but New Hampshire's RSA says it is in fact up to the 'Governor and Council.' Sununu, who has sole authority to reject agenda items, decided to put the item on the Executive Council agenda this week instead of pocketing it. The bipartisan proposal was introduced by Republican Councilor Russell Prescott. NHDP Chair Ray Buckley issued the following statement: "This toll increase will be decided by the Governor & Council, as the law clearly states, period. Chris Sununu is pretending it's solely the 'Executive Council's' responsibility when this toll increase can only legally pass with the approval of the Governor himself - which he gave on Friday by asking the Council to vote on it at their next meeting. Sununu realized he couldn't get away with this bait and switch governing strategy, so he decided to postpone the vote until January. This is another series of lightweight moves from a Governor who consistently refuses to be the adult in the room."
