Concord, N.H. – Today, Trump administration Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke visited Bass Pro Shops in Hooksett to promote wildlife preservation. He was in the state to re-affirm federal trust funds that have been around for decades. According to the Union Leader, New Hampshire receives the minimum amount of any state in the country. After a weekend in Washington D.C. with the Trump administration, Governor Chris Sununu joined Zinke at the Hooksett event.
NHDP Chair Ray Buckley issued the following statement:
“Governor Sununu never misses a chance to be seen with a Trump official. Despite what Sununu and Trump would like this empty gesture to symbolize, New Hampshire is worse off because of their environmental policies. Sununu tossed away any chance at legitimacy on climate and conservation when he stood by President Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement and refused to join the US Climate Alliance. Governor Sununu should heed the calls of the New Hampshire Congressional delegation to reconsider his climate positions and commitment to basic science rather than grandstanding and saying ‘not my job’ when it matters most.”
