NHDP Statement: A week later, Fisher still in House, Sununu & GOP must do more to pressure him out

Concord, N.H. – It has been a week since the Daily Beast unmasked Republican Representative Robert Fisher as the creator of the misogynist online forum ‘Red Pill.’ Following Representative Robert Fisher’s defiant response, Governor Sununu and NHGOP Chair Jeanie Forrester have done nothing to ensure that Rep. Fisher resigns.
NHDP Chair Ray Buckley issued the following statement:
“It has been a week since his unmasking and Governor Sununu and NHGOP Chair Jeanie Forrester appear ready to accept Fisher’s decision to remain in the House. What they should do instead is put additional pressure on Fisher to resign. They can’t stand by while he continues to cast votes on behalf of Granite Staters under their party’s banner. Representative Fisher’s response demonstrates that he clearly doesn’t understand the nature of his actions and universal calls for his resignation. He has blamed the ‘failing school system’ and lack of context instead of accepting responsibility for his abhorrent words and actions.”
